Preparation after Snow Blizzard 2016

Dear Residents,

The District Government, DC Public Schools and DC Public Charter Schools will be closed Monday, January 25. Residents are urged to stay off of the roads while phase two of snow removal starts in residential neighborhoods. You can track where plows are located in your neighborhood here. Please be on the look-out for your neighbors that need assistance, primarily our seniors and residents with disabilities. You may volunteer to shovel snow with the D.C. Resident Snow team here.

Please also note that snow emergency routes are still in effect. Do not park in these designated areas. Snow emergency tickets are $250 and they also result in the towing of your vehicle. To locate a towed vehicle, please call (202) 541-6083.

The District’s Cold Emergency Plan is currently active. If you see someone experiencing homelessness or in need of warm clothing, please contact the Department of Human Service’s shelter hotline at 1-800-535-7252 or 311. The warming/power outage centers are no longer open.
