NBA Honors Members of the Legal Community for Their Impact in the African-American Community
WASHINGTON, DC- Today, Councilmember Kenyan R. McDuffie (D- Ward 5) expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude after being named one of the “Top 40 Trailblazers Under 40” by the National Bar Association (NBA).
“I am humbled by this recognition and I thank the National Bar Association for including me on its list of distinguished, hard-working and influential African-American lawyers across the country,” said Councilmember Kenyan R. McDuffie. “As a former prosecutor and now the youngest member sitting on the Council of the District of Columbia, I look forward to continuing to work on legislation that will have a positive and lasting effect in our communities”.
Councilmember Kenyan R. McDuffie is joined by other attorney ‘trailblazers’, including members of Congress, public officials and corporate partners in the private sector. The National Bar Association selects forty members on an annual basis. The NBA’s selection panel uses criteria and takes into consideration each individuals commitment to public service, proven leadership qualities, peer recommendations and dedication to uplifting future generations of African-Americans.
