What:
Councilmember Kenyan R. McDuffie (D – Ward 5), Chairperson of the Committee on Government Operations, will convene a public roundtable on the feasibility of converting to a public financing model for elections in District of Columbia.
Various jurisdictions around the country have enacted legislation converting their campaign financing systems to public or quasi-public financing models. The roundtable will also provide an opportunity for the committee to hear from witnesses on best practices from their jurisdictions and get a better understanding about financing publicly-funded elections.
